An exploration of sheet metal and obsession with metal joinery led me to create this adjustable toy. The introduction of copper wire and brass tubing gives this object the flexibility to slide and glide in multiple directions--inspiring the user to linger on, play with, and solve this pliable puzzle.
There was only one limitation to this project: material. Given a sheet of aluminum, I was challenged to sift by tinkering through the endless possibilities presented by this malleable metal. Mesmerized by the tension fit, I spent much time perfecting minuscule measurements in an effort to achieve the super satisfying tension fit that slides and locks in place to create surprising windows into the cubical form.
